As part of our licence agreement, we are asked to cite REDCap in any publications resulting from projects which have used it for data collection and management.

Conditions of use

  • The IDE instance of REDCap (University of Cambridge) is hosted by the High Performance Hub for Clinical Informatics (HPHI), which is part of the University High Performance Computing Group. Usage of REDCap therefore requires adherence to the policies and rules of the Information Services Committee.

  • The REDCap Administrator provides a secure and stable platform for project teams to collect and manage their non-identifiable research data. Responsibility for all aspects of a study, including the use of the REDCap facility, remains with the Principle Investigator at all times.
  •
  • Governance surrounding research data can be complex, and careful consideration of the various guidelines and policies is recommended: University of Cambridge Research Data Management, School of Clinical Medicine Information Governance, HPHI usage policies (requires a RAVEN login)

  • There is currently no dedicated support to assist with individual projects on REDCap. However, tutorial videos are available which provide a good foundation on getting started. Also, once logged in, there is a list of FAQs' giving more detail on each of the database functions.
